Trains will speed up on another section under the Ore Mountains
The line section to be reconstructed was built in the 1980s in connection with the progressive extraction of brown coal. Its most dominant feature is the 418-metre-long the elevated track Vrskmaňská estakáda, which, among other things, crosses the water reservoir Újezd.
The construction includes a complete reconstruction of the line, the Chomutov město and Jirkov stops will undergo a transformation, which will get extended platforms and barrier-free access. The underpass in Jirkov will be extended, which will also provide access to trains from the village of Otvice. To increase traffic safety, a new underpass will be built connecting Otvice with the shopping area. A footbridge will replace the level crossing in Chomutov between Kamencové jezero (Alum Lake) and the local zoo.
The total investment costs of the construction entitled Reconstruction of the line in the section Kyjice – Chomutov amount to CZK 3,027,952,665 excluding VAT. The project is proposed for co-financing by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund within the Programme Transport 2021–2027. The total amount of eligible project costs is CZK 2,788,198,587. The proposed rate of EU support is 80.75 % of the eligible costs, so the maximum amount of subsidy can be CZK 2,251,470,359. National financing is provided by Státní fond dopravní infrastruktury (State Fund for Transport Infrastructure).Soubory ke stažení
