Správa železnic received almost 60 million crowns from European programme JTM

Správa železnic continues to successfully obtain grants from the European Union. It will now apply the Just Transition Mechanism (JTM) programme, which combines a loan from the European Investment Bank and grants. In the sixth call of the programme, three projects in the Ústí nad Labem Region have been awarded a grant, the total amount of the subsidy amounts to CZK 59.4 million.

The Fair Transformation Programme is oriented towards the development of structurally affected regions of the European Union, in the Czech Republic specifically the Ústí nad Labem, Karlovy Vary and Moravian-Silesian Regions. Funding has been approved for the following three projects:

  • Reconstruction of the line including noise protection measures in the Litoměřice město – Velké Žernoseky section
  • Reconstruction of the bridge at km 3.040 of the line Ústí nad Labem-Střekov – Ústí nad Labem západ
  • Reconstruction of the bridge at km 18.582 of the line Ústí nad Labem – Most

The above-mentioned constructions include a set of measures to reduce the negative impacts of railway transport, especially high noise pollution, on the environment of the affected localities in the Ústí nad Labem Region and their inhabitants. The reconstruction of specific line sections will contribute to the improvement of the quality of housing and will enable the maintenance of rail transport services in the area.

The implementation of these constructions is co-financed by the European Union from the Just Transition Mechanism (JTM). The total cost amounts to CZK 330,013,606. The European Investment Bank loan granted for these constructions amounts to CZK 237,609,812. The rate of EU support is 25 % of the loan, so the amount of the subsidy is CZK 59,402,453.
