Passengers in Klatovy will get comfortable access to station building and platforms
The current station building in Klatovy has been serving passengers since 1959, its author is the well-known railway architect Josef Danda.
“Klatovy railway station plays an important role in regional transport, among other things, the attractive tourist line to Železná Ruda passes through it. The restoration of the local listed building will be appreciated not only by passengers from the trains, but also from the bus terminal, which will be built in the station forecourt thanks to the investment of the Pilsen Region,” says Minister of Transport Martin Kupka. He adds that bus drivers from the emerging terminal will also find the necessary facilities in the reconstructed building.
“Passengers will most appreciate the adaptation of the interior spaces, which will also be barrier-free. This also applies to the access to the platforms; lifts will lead from the pedestrian underpass to them. The whole railway station will also get a convenient orientation system,” describes Jiří Svoboda, Director General of Správa železnic.
As part of the reconstruction of the check-in hall, the builders will construct new public toilets. A brick shelter for bicycles will be built adjacent to the building.
The contractors of the works are the companies Chládek a Tintěra, Pardubice and Berger Bohemia, which submitted a bid worth CZK 37,360,411. The estimated value of the construction contract was CZK 393 million.Soubory ke stažení
