Modernisation of line to Zlín will start in a year, Správa železnic is also preparing other large constructions
The eleven-kilometre section from Otrokovice to Zlín will be the first to come up, which will get not only the overhead line but also a second track. The line speed will increase to 100 km/h. At the same time, safety will be improved by removing two level crossings. The first one in Otrokovice-Kvítkovice will be replaced by a tunnel, instead of a level crossing in Zlín-Prštné a road overpass will be built.
At present, the modernisation of this line section has already received a final building permit. The property settlement with the owners of the necessary land continues, Správa železnic has already concluded agreements with approximately three quarters of the owners. Approximately in the middle of this year, a tender for the contractor for the first section to the regional capital will be announced, and the works themselves will start at the beginning of next year.
The reconstruction of the section between Zlín and Vizovice, which has not yet received a final zoning decision, will also start subsequently. The result will be an electrified single-track line. The stations Lípa nad Dřevnicí and Vizovice will get barrier-free platforms, and a new overpass will be built instead of the level crossing in Zlín-Podvesná. As part of a separate investment, a new station building will also be built at Zlín střed station. It will be completely finished between Otrokovice and Vizovice at the end of 2030.
Správa železnic is also preparing other important constructions in the region. Next year,
it will start the reconstruction of platforms in Valašské Meziříčí at a cost of CZK 845 million or reconstruction of Bystřice pod Hostýnem station including the station building there at a cost of almost CZK 600 million. A year later, a completely new platform and pedestrian underpass will be built in Uherské Hradiště, these modifications will cost CZK 1.7 billion.
