Exhibition compares current and future bridge at Výtoň

Správa železnic today launched an outdoor panel exhibition offering a comparison of the existing and planned design of the railway bridge at Výtoň. The exhibition, entitled Better Connections, Better City Life, focuses on both aesthetic and practical aspects and highlights the benefits that the new bridge will bring not only to transport but also to the capital and its residents.

The six information panels, located on the embankment underneath the Výtoň section of the railway bridge, show comparisons of the current state with visualisations of the planned changes. Visitors to the exhibition can see for themselves, for example, how little the new bridge will change the Prague panorama. The site-specific views also illustrate the creation of new spaces for culture and services, such as a stylish bistro in the arch of the original viaduct.

Clear information panels also present the shape of the future Praha-Výtoň stop. It will allow easy transfer from the train to public transport. A condition for its creation is the addition of a third track to the bridge. Increasing the capacity of the line is also necessary due to the growing volume of long-distance, suburban and intra-city rail traffic.

The exhibition also highlights the future barrier-free connection of both banks of the Vltava River. The new bridge will facilitate the movement of pedestrians and cyclists. Noise reduction and reclamation of the adjacent embankments will open up new opportunities for leisure activities, children's playgrounds will be created, and previously unused parts of the embankments will be revived.

The exhibition will be open until the end of the holiday season. For more detailed information about the project of the new bridge on Výtoň, visitors can visit the website novymostvyton.cz.
