Contracts signed, modernisation of Vlkov u Tišnova and section to Křižanov begins
As part of the modernisation of the Vlkov station, the platforms and the pedestrian underpass will be completely removed. Trains will stop closer to the village, directly behind the municipal office. “A new stop Vlkov-Osová will be created, which will significantly shorten the walking distance for the residents of Vlkov and nearby Osová. Two new platforms will be accessible via sloping footpaths. The reconstruction also includes the replacement of the existing station building with a new technological building,” says Jiří Svoboda, Director General of Správa železnic. The construction includes extensive revitalisation of the tracks, including the substructure and superstructure, reconstruction of bridges and culverts, overhead contact lines and modernisation of telecommunication and signalling systems.
In parallel with the modernisation of the station, eleven kilometres of the line from Vlkov to Křižanov will be reconstructed. “This construction will affect the entire intermediate section and the stops in Osová Bítýška and Ořechov, which will undergo reconstruction and gain barrier-free access,” adds Jiří Svoboda. Changes in the radii of the curves will allow an increase in line speed from 100 km/h to 160 km/h. Eight bridges, fourteen culverts and two retaining walls will be renovated during the construction. In Ořechov, a noise barrier is planned to protect the kindergarten.
Both constructions will be fully underway next year. It is not possible to increase the curve radiuses and move them to the new line route during operation, so a complete shutdown of train service from March to September next year is still being addressed. Both constructions must be coordinated with the modernisation of Brno-Královo Pole.
The companies Chládek & Tintěra and Elektrizace železnic are realising the reconstruction of the Vlkov station with a bid price of CZK 1,387,414,404. The modernisation of the subsequent section from Vlkov u Tišnova to Křižanov is being carried out by a consortium of companies Eurovia CS, Chládek a Tintěra Pardubice, GJW Praha and ELTRA with a winning bid of CZK 1,803,087,246. The tendered amounts are lower than the tenders assumed.
The implementation of both constructions is proposed to be co-financed by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund within the Programme Transport 2021–2027. National financing will be provided by Státní fond dopravní infrastruktury (State Fund for Transport Infrastructure).Soubory ke stažení
