Modernisation of key railway crossing in Česká Třebová begins

Already at the turn of the year, Správa železnic will start one of the most important constructions in its history – the modernisation of the Česká Třebová railway node. Its total reconstruction will be carried out by the companies Eurovia CZ; STRABAG Rail; Chládek a Tintěra, Pardubice and Elektrizace železnic Praha, which submitted the best offer in the amount of CZK 17,131,539,220. The works will be carried out during operation and will last until 2031.

Not only the entire passenger station in Česká Třebová will undergo a total reconstruction, but also the technical parameters of the part of the station intended for freight transport will be improved. Train speeds will increase to 80 km/h. This will considerably reduce the time of trains passing through the whole node.

The builders will reconstruct all platforms, their height will allow comfortable boarding of trains. The existing pedestrian underpass will also be renovated, from which passengers will be able to reach the platform comfortably thanks to lifts. In addition, it will be extended under the entire track facility and replace the unsatisfactory pedestrian underpass to the area behind the station. The pedestrian underpass for the public in the southern part of the station will be replaced by a modern steel footbridge connecting the station forecourt with Semanínská Street.

The project also includes the modernisation of the subsequent sections to Třebovice v Čechách, Opatov and Dlouhá Třebová. The work here will also include the reconstruction of bridges that connect the freight part of the station with the main line.

Implementation of the construction Modernisation of the Česká Třebová railway node will be co-financed by the EU Fund from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).
