Even safer railways: Správa železnic is launching ETCS information website

As the introduction of exclusive ETCS operation on the main corridors is approaching, Správa železnic is launching a dedicated website for the public. It informs in an accessible way about the functioning of the single European train control system, describes its advantages or plans for future expansion. The website is available at etcsinfo.cz.

A separate section of the website is dedicated to frequently asked questions encountered by Správa železnic. In this section, visitors can find information on topics such as the operation of historic vehicles on lines with ETCS or its operation on local lines. Thanks to the website, all news related to the ETCS will also be in one place.

ETCS is a modern train control system. It brings a major increase in railway service safety and unifies train control systems across European countries. Unlike older systems, ETCS can take control over the train and slow it down or stop it completely if necessary. Thanks to the deployment of exclusive ETCS operation, it will be prospectively possible to increase the maximum train speed and line capacity in some sections.
