Construction workers in Lovosice will move from platforms into station building

In Lovosice, construction work will start this spring to restore the original splendour of the local station building. The building, which dates to 1968, will get an insulated façade and roof, and passengers will appreciate more efficient interior spaces. The benefits of the reconstruction will also be a significant reduction in operational costs. It will be ready next summer.

At Lovosice station, work is currently finishing on building barrier-free access to all platforms. However, the construction activity here will not cease in the coming months, it will just move to the local station building. It was designed by the well-known architect Josef Danda and completed in 1968 at the same time as the reconstruction of the whole station.

The builders will modify the internal layout of the building, which will improve the functionality of the public spaces. The façade and the roof will then undergo insulation. The reconstruction of the heating source, distribution networks and electrical installations will contribute to significant savings in operating costs. In the proximity of the station building, a P+R car park will be created with the possibility of charging electric cars and bicycle parking.

The contractor of the works will be the company OHLA ŽS, which submitted the winning bid of CZK 176,644,170 million. The estimated value of the contract was CZK 195 million. Financing of the construction is provided by Státní fond dopravní infrastruktury (State Fund for transport Infrastructure).
